John Players Spring Summer 2017

John Players is one brand, that has always been close to my heart. And there are two primary reasons to it.

First, I have seen John Players in the market, ever since I was a kid, which kind of makes it a legendary brand. Second, it always out-perform itself, when it comes to offering the best of the wardrobe solutions to their consumers.

And if their 2017 casual wear collection is anything to go by, then well, my second point above remains unscathed.

I say it because this season, John Players have brought in three distinctive flavors to their new range.

Decibel, Liminal and JP Univ, with each one of them offering something different than the other. While Decibel range is made out-and-out for the casual wear lovers with its vibrant and youthful color scheme adding that spunk to it, the Liminal range keeps its focus glued to floral and tribal prints on shirts and tees.

And for the sporty ones! Well, there is JP Univ range with its sporty prints, tonal motifs, zipped neckline and jacquard collar shirts and polos.

I got a chance to visit their Lajpat Nagar store recently to explore the whole collection and create few looks out of it. Here’s what I came up with.

While most of you call it chequered print, the correct and authentic terminology is Grungy Flannelled Shirts. A big time hit in the 1990s, they still rock our wardrobes, don’t they?

I intentionally opted for a shirt one size bigger than I usually wear, to give it that casual and comforting feel. I think that allows the body to breathe with ease and counter the heat that it generates. The Khaki jogger pants were right at sync to go with my own boots that I chose to keep on for this look.

Look 2

A comforting tee with subtle print pattern, to go with an easy fitting trouser is all that it takes for you to have a nice and easy-going evening with friends/family/lover(s). Now, I am a guy who rides his days mostly with shirts, but let me tell you with utmost honesty; you can’t ignore the t-shirts that are there this season with John Players. They are a must-must-must-kind-of-checkout!

Madras checks and embroidered butta motif shirts- I had it all at my disposal to play around with. A street smart look that can augur well for both, a casual evening with family or a chilled-out date – I had fun putting this one together!
